i didn’t realize that today was the 25th anniversary of the Space Shuttle Challenger’s explosion til I saw it on Yahoo this morning. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AfnvFnzs91s i was 7y/o and in 2nd grade and remember watching it on tv in class. it was unreal.
and this tuesday (2/1/11) will mark the 8th anniversary of the Space Shuttle Columbia’s explosion during it’s re-entry back into Earth’s atmosphere. the shuttle exploded almost exactly over where i live. (debris from the explosion was scattered all over east Texas). the explosion was so massive that our house shook pretty violently and we woke up thinking a rare earth quake had just happened, or a power plant had just exploded.
it’s interesting that the 2 events happened almost the same day, just 17 years apart. and now the shuttle program is coming to an end. it’s somewhat disappointing i’m sure. but in light of so many space tragedies over the years, one wonders if it’s not ultimately for the best. maybe it’s our “Tower of Babel”….
explain to me how when you fill out a W4 for your workplace and you ask to have the max amount of taxes taken out of your pay, they take absolutely NOTHING out for federal income taxes!!??? WTF! i’m seriously wanting to go postal on Starbucks right now for screwing us over BIGTIME! this is total bullshit!
